Harold Beauchamp is perhaps best known today as the father of New Zealand writer Katherine Mansfield. But there was much more to the man.
Our summer exhibition explores the life of a prominent Wellingtonian, enterprising businessman, energetic world traveller, and proud family man.
Sir Harold Beauchamp was the first owner of Mansfield’s birthplace at Tinakori Road, an early Director of the Bank of New Zealand, and counted New Zealand’s Premier, Sir Richard Seddon, among his friends.
Get a glimpse into turn of the century Wellington through the life of the industrious Sir Harold.
This exhibition is a partnership between KMHG and BNZ Heritage.
