From Plate to Page: An Evening with Peter Gordon

Peter Gordon is a chef, restaurateur, writer and fusion pioneer whose eclectic cuisine has had global reach. Join us at this special fundraising event for Katherine Mansfield House & Garden to hear about the books, travel, people and experiences that have shaped his life.

For forty years Peter has gathered ingredients, textures and techniques from around the world and brought them to diners at his award-winning restaurants such as The Sugar Club and The Providores, and into homes through his eight cookbooks. He has cooked for world leaders including Queen Elizabeth II and Barack Obama, presented shows for the Discovery Channel and Whakaata Māori (Māori Television), and appeared on the shows of Nigel Slater and Jamie Oliver in the UK and as a guest judge on MasterChef NZ. He is also the founder of the hugely successful UK charity event Who’s Cooking Dinner? and its NZ equivalent Dining for a Difference.

The evening will begin with a glass of Hunter’s Wines’ award-winning MiruMiru™ and delicious canapés. A non-alcoholic option will also be available.

This event is being held to raise funds for our Category 1 Historic Place and writer’s museum in Thorndon, which is open six days a week. We offer an annual programme of events and activities designed to encourage creativity and we host school and tour groups to share the life, literature and legacy of Katherine Mansfield.

Please note there is a small surcharge for over-the-phone credit card transactions. Otherwise you can pop into the house to buy a ticket. There will be limited door sales at the event.
