Poetry in the Garden 2026

Enjoy an afternoon of poetry in the garden at Katherine Mansfield House & Garden! Bring a picnic and sit on the lawn to hear readings from local poets, including 2026 Ockham NZ Book Award longlisted-poets and poets with newly released collections.

Featuring readings from Anna Jackson, Leah Dodd, Gregory Kan, Freya Turnbull, James Brown, Helen Rickerby and Hinemoana Baker.

Limited seating will be available, but we encourage you to bring a rug and spread out on the lawn. There is minimal shade in the garden, so please remember to bring a sunhat and feel free to bring a parasol or small umbrella. We will have sunscreen and water available.

This event is free but as a charity, donations are always appreciated!
