Jane Steward is the founder and owner of Eastgate Larder and a committed medlar enthusiast. She received her first medlar tree as a wedding present and is now dedicated to reviving this overlooked and forgotten fruit. An artisan producer of medlar jelly, chutney and gin, Jane looks after the 115 trees which she planted in rural Norfolk to create the Eastgate medlar orchard, now a Plant Heritage National Collection. Medlars: Growing and Cooking was shortlisted for the prestigious Fortnam & Mason Food and Drink Awards 2024.
